HOW TO MAKE THE MOST OF SOCIAL NETWORKING ON KEARSARGECONNECTS
- Set up a profile (sign up, become a Community Bulletin Board member!)
- Upload a profile photo
When logged in, click the "settings" tab on the right, you'll be in the "profile" section. Use the "browse" button to upload the profile photo of your choice. If you're a business, you may want to upload your logo.
- Insert information into the "text" boxes on your page
Share some information about yourself.
If you have a website, share your website with visitors! Be sure to create a hyperlink to the url address so that visitors can click on it and go right there, rather than having to type it into the address bar.
You can also insert photos.
- Look through current members for people you may know already on the site
Go to their profile and send them a friend request!
- Invite your friends (local please!) to join you here.
Use the "invite" button on the right side of the page. You can manually enter your email addresses of those you want to invite or import addresses from your address book. Customize your message. Tell your friends about this great new comprehensive online resource for the region and invite them to join us!
- If you have a Twitter or Facebook account, link to those from your KearsargeConnects Account and have updates from here appear on those sites!
Everytime you view a photo, a video, a profile, a blog, a post on the forum, etc., under each item is a Facebook icon and a Twitter icon. by clicking on this icon, you can post a link to that item. For example, say you are reading a blog. You want others to read it, or perhaps just let others know you are reading it. Click the "F" icon and share it on Facebook. Click the "T" icon and your Tweet box will appear and say something like "Checking out blog on KearsargeConnects" with a link to the blog. You can edit what the post says to reflect the intention of your
post.
You can do the same when visiting a person's profile page. Say your friend just joined KearsargeConnects and you want to welcome them or share that they joined you. Click where you want to share the news and your post will be sent (and posted).
And updates ... just like you'd post updates on Facebook, you do the same on KearsargeConnects and if you're linked up, your update will appear on your Facebook or Twitter page. Linking to your Twitter and / or Facebook account allows you to stay connected with your friends, customers, followers on multiple social networking platforms without having to log into each to post the same thing.
Great for expanded exposure!
- Use the forum!
Share your "stuff". Thoughts (blog or create a Community-Related Discussion"), items or places to rent or for sale, volunteer opportunities, carpooling opportunities, things wanted, what you're grateful for, etc. Recent activity is displayed on the site (and much of it also appears on Twitter via "KearsargeConnex" ) and the more exposure
your post gets, the more exposure YOU get.
- Keep coming back and keep searching the site for and inviting your friends!
